There's a version of outreach that's mostly adrenaline: a big event, a big push, a big crowd — and then silence for eleven months.
We've done big events. We love them. But the thing that actually changes a city is far less exciting.
It's the Tuesdays
Love on Hamilton started with a simple, unglamorous commitment: show up weekly. Bring food. Pray with whoever wants prayer. Learn people's names. Come back the next week whether it "worked" or not.
No stage. No lights. Just presence.
Here's what that consistency does that an event can't: it makes you believable. Anyone can be generous once. Showing up in February, in the cold, for the fortieth week in a row — that's when people start to believe your love isn't a campaign.
Love before words
"Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)
The order matters. Serve first. Feed first. Sit with someone first. The gospel isn't diluted by practical love — it's made legible by it.
People who've been preached at their whole lives and never helped once have a category for religion. They don't have a category for someone who keeps showing up.
Then go wider
What began in one city became Love on The World — the same model, city after city. And Love on Mission puts it on a map so you can find where teams are heading and join one.
When crisis hits, Kingdom Response mobilizes churches into coordinated disaster relief — because the Church should be first on the scene, not last.
And a few times a year, we do go big: Jesus Festival gathers whole cities for free worship and a clear gospel invitation. The events work because of the Tuesdays. The relationships are already there.
What this means for you
You don't need to found anything. You need a rhythm.
Pick one: a weekly outreach, a monthly serve, a standing coffee with someone far from God. Something repeatable that survives your motivation running out.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)
At the proper time. Not immediately. Keep going.
Seek first. Stay ready.
