The SIX33 Field Guide
Terms, defined.
Short, plain-language answers to the words you'll meet across the Outpost — the faith behind Matthew 6:33, how ordinary believers carry the mission, and what the build details on our gear actually mean.
Faith
The core ideas behind Matthew 6:33 and the Seek First life.
- Matthew 6:33
- A verse from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." It is a command to put God's rule first, followed by a promise that the Father will provide what we need. (Matthew 6:25–34) What Matthew 6:33 actually means
- SIX33
- Shorthand for Matthew 6:33 — chapter six, verse thirty-three. SIX33 Outpost is named after the verse and its call to seek God's Kingdom first. Our mission
- Seek first
- Giving God's Kingdom the first place in your attention, time, money and decisions — not the only place, but the first. In practice it means choosing priorities before the day chooses them for you. (Matthew 6:33) The discipline of seeking first · 30-Day Seek First Challenge
- Kingdom of God
- God's reign and rule — wherever His will is done. Jesus announced it as already arriving in Him and taught His followers to pray "your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10; Mark 1:15) What seeking the Kingdom costs
- Righteousness
- Being and doing what is right before God. In the New Testament it is first a gift received through faith in Christ, and then a way of life that grows out of that gift. (Romans 3:22; Matthew 6:33)
- Gospel
- The "good news" that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again, and that anyone who trusts Him is forgiven and brought into God's family. (1 Corinthians 15:3–4) How to share your faith
- Discipleship
- Following Jesus as a learner and helping others do the same. A disciple is an apprentice of Jesus who is being shaped to think, love and live like Him. (Matthew 28:19–20)
- Spiritual discipline
- A regular practice — such as prayer, scripture reading, fasting, generosity or rest — that puts you where God tends to shape people. Disciplines don't earn grace; they make room for it. A morning routine that survives · Faith and fitness
- Sabbath
- A rhythm of setting aside regular time to stop working, rest and delight in God. Jesus said "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." (Exodus 20:8–11; Mark 2:27)
- Fasting
- Going without food (or another good thing) for a set time to focus on prayer and dependence on God. Jesus assumed His followers would fast and taught them to do it quietly. (Matthew 6:16–18)
Mission
How ordinary believers carry the gospel into everyday places.
- Great Commission
- Jesus' final instruction to His followers to "go and make disciples of all nations," baptising and teaching them, with the promise "I am with you always." (Matthew 28:18–20) Love on Mission — the Great Commission mapped
- Evangelism
- Sharing the good news of Jesus with people who don't yet follow Him — through words, actions and invitation. Most evangelism happens in ordinary relationships, not on stages. Share your faith without being weird
- Oikos
- A Greek New Testament word for "household" — used to describe the 8 to 15 people you naturally spend time with: family, friends, coworkers, neighbours. Your oikos is your most natural mission field. (Acts 16:31) What is an oikos? · Oikos Map (free tool)
- Prayer walk
- Praying on location — walking a neighbourhood, campus or workplace and praying for the people and places you see, with your eyes open to anyone God puts in your path. (Jeremiah 29:7) How to do a prayer walk
- Intercession
- Praying on behalf of other people — standing in the gap for someone else's needs before God. (1 Timothy 2:1)
- Testimony
- Your own story of what God has done in your life — usually told as what life was like, what changed, and what's different now. It's the one part of the gospel conversation nobody can argue with. (1 Peter 3:15) Challenge Day 19: Tell your story
- Kingdom building
- Using your work, business, skills and money to serve God's purposes — seeing everyday vocation as part of the mission, not a distraction from it. (Colossians 3:23) Your work is not a distraction

Gear
What the fabric and build terms on our product pages mean.
- Heavyweight fleece
- Thick, brushed-back cotton fleece — typically 350 GSM and up — that holds its shape, blocks wind better and lasts longer than standard sweatshirt fabric. Hoodies
- GSM
- Grams per square metre — the weight of a fabric. Higher GSM means a denser, warmer, more durable garment; a lightweight tee is around 150 GSM, a heavyweight hoodie 350–450.
- Ring-spun cotton
- Cotton yarn that is twisted and thinned repeatedly before knitting, producing a softer, smoother and stronger fabric than standard open-end cotton. Tees
- UPF
- Ultraviolet Protection Factor — how much of the sun's UV a fabric blocks. UPF 30 lets roughly 1/30th of UV through; it's the clothing equivalent of SPF. Summit Trail Long Sleeve
- Moisture-wicking
- Fabric that pulls sweat away from the skin to the outer surface, where it evaporates faster — keeping you drier and more comfortable on long efforts.
- Print-on-demand
- Making each item after it's ordered instead of in bulk ahead of time. It means no unsold inventory and less waste, with the trade-off of a slightly longer wait. Why our gear is made this way
